This is a 1962 REX KL35.I saw this bike on the local want adds close by and went to see it. I never heard of it and almost passed.As it goes its fairly rare. It was made in Munich Germany and sold out of Salt Lake City ,Utah.It is a 50 cc 2 stroke originally sold as a KL30 in Europe but modified with dual carburators and dual exaust, Repainted and pinstriped but Rex never rebadged with a different decal

Check out the key storage and how it locks up the bike-The locksmith took 3 weeks to make a key and remove from bars.

ReplyDeleteI remember these from when i was a kid, in W Germany, 1977. There were "mofa gangen", ie moped gangs, who thought they were real badasses. Lots of variety in their decorated Mofa's. Just motorized bicycles, really. Gas is expensive over there, and in the 70's not so prosperous, so they rode anything.
